coming up short (3 stars)

I have come to expect a lot from the roots and with that said, I can barely call this an album. First off there’s only 11 “tracks” which is fine if they were actually all songs. There’s like 4 interlude and a song at the end that doesn’t even feature black thought(but would have been prefect for at least one of his verses). The songs that Thought is featured on, he only has one verse! although they are up to his usual excellent st

Disappointed (2 stars)

Just listened to the whole album (if you could call it a whole album). It has more intro, interlude, and other than actual hip-hop. Black Thought feels like a feature and there are only 2 good rap tracks. Dies Irae is just painful to my ears and I can count the number of verses in all of the album in one hand. This is and EP


I have always loved the Roots (5 stars)

No doubt this album will not change that.
