Good… not Great (4 stars)

Although MJB is an unbelievable talent, “No More Drama” is just good. Family Affaire is the best song here. Mary is capable of greatness (which can be heard on “The Breakthrough”). If you are a true Mary J. Blige fan, you must buy this album, but if you want her heard her at her best, “What’s the 411?” and “The Breakthrough” are the way to go.

Incredible album, one of her best! (5 stars)

The album, No More Drama, starts on a crazy note with a unique blend of notes in the song Love. The next song, Family Affair, was destined to be a hit, with its catchy chorus and head bopping beats. The third track, Steal Away, is a hard-hitting track with heavy vocals. Crazy Games has a nice set of rhymes, but is almost filler. When her debut album, What's the 411?, hit the street in 1992, critics and fans alike were floored by its powerful combination of modern R&B with an edgy rap sound that glanced off of the pain and grit of Mary J. Blige's Yonkers, New York childhood. Called alternately the new Chaka Khan or new Aretha Franklin, Blige had little in common stylistically with either of those artists, but like them, she helped adorn soul music with new textures and flavors that inspired a whole generation of musicians….
